Good morning Geeks and Nerds! A lot has happened since last month and although a chunk of it has been addressed on Twitter I felt starting a bi-weekly newsletter would be nice to gather it all up in one place.
First things first -
Last month the day after Father’s Day I announced a big change with Keeping it Geekly. I was pumping out roughly 4-6 live interviews for over a year straight with minimal breaks. This was also in combination with 3-4 Twitch live streams on Job_for_a_Cody.
I love interviewing, it is honestly a passion I discovered when I first started Keeping it Geekly and it just imploded the more I developed my skills. Unfortunately, it also kept me at the computer for anywhere from 6-12 hours a day. With Job_for_a_Cody I had an explosive launch in popularity which gifted me so many opportunities but eventually, I let the flame burn out. I met so many special people who stayed with me through the years and developed so many great friendships.
When I first started KiG I was determined to hit that growth and continue pushing through when I originally failed with JFAC. Although I did interview every day for half a year straight, I did pull away to mainly trying to only cover 4 days a week. I had tremendous support but was blind to how much time I was spending on both brands. Time that would be better spent with family and loved ones.
My first interview back and of course I knocked over the water LOL

With my 2 week break from interviewing, I found myself again. I love learning about the creative process but boundaries and limits are crucial to what I do. I have such an addictive personality that it’s easy for me to get consumed with things without realizing it. So going forward I only intend on conducting 1-2 interviews a week at maximum and don’t ever intend on doing more.
The time I have spent over the last 5 weeks has heavily centered on personal growth. I have been attending therapy for 4 weeks straight in order to better my cognitive behavior and ability to communicate properly. I also finally caved and set up a dentist appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed. Something that has caused me great pain over the years. Although I am nervous about surgery, I am extremely excited to finally be knocking out a ton of goals so fast. I started working full-time at a pizza gig doing delivery which has helped me knock out my credit debt and pay bills in advance as well as get my second car repaired. Although my life has experienced great change over the last month, I have been on top of all my goals.
AND BEST FOR LAST - I signed up for a class at The Kubert School!! A script class with Amy Chu starting August 2nd!
This covers most of the major changes over the last month. I have also been contemplating consolidating Job_for_a_Cody and Keeping it Geekly into one. I have canceled most “extra” subscriptions for KiG such as Calendly, Streamyard, and Resream.io to save any extra money I can, but with that in mind, if I only have to focus on one brand then my time will be freed up much more. This has been something I have been sitting on for months since JFAC is well established but the time may come when I just start streaming AAA and Indie games strictly on KiG soon!
Thank you to anyone that has made it this far, I am on the cusp of great things and can’t wait to show you more work and progress next newsletter. I hope you all have a great day but most importantly - Keep it Geekly
